Derby's Liberal Democrat Councillors have announced their "Shadow Cabinet" which will form the opposition to the Labour-Conservative Cabinet that runs Derby City Council.

Commenting on the new line-up the leader of the Lib Dem group Cllr Hilary Jones said "We have assembled a talented group of people who will hold this Labour-Tory Alliance to account.

"Our team will be working hard on the Council to try to prevent any more cuts to local services. We will seek to be constructive, to point out positive solutions to some of Derby's problems, but we will also be critical when necessary.

"Derby needs a strong opposition to this Labour council and its Conservative allies. I believe this shadow cabinet team can do that job effectively."
