Local Liberal Democrats want the Council to back Theatre in Derby

Derby's Liberal Democrat group are putting down a motion, to be debated at the Full Council meeting on 23rd January, supporting theatre in Derby.

Lib Dem Leader Cllr Hilary Jones said " We need a firm Statement from the leadership of Derby City Council that they support all types of theatre both professional and amateur in Derby.

"The council needs to work with all parties to ensure that the city has a rich variety of performances at various venues around the city."

" Derby has a wide cultural mix with in the city so must continue to attract a wide variety of the public to performances both from within the city and to encourage people from further a field to visit theatres in Derby."
