Tories refuse to talks on city's future

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 12th Aug 2008

Tories on Derby City council have refused to take part in talks on the City's future.

The Lib Dem Leadership at the City council offered to talk with the Tory group about proposed changes to the Councils Corporate Priorities but this offer was rejected by the Tories. The Lib Dems wanted to take a city-wide approach and have a greener agenda.

It's time that the Tories stopped sulking about loosing control of the council and accept that the people of Derby have chosen the Lib Dems to run the city. Their refusal to work with the Lib Dem cabinet just shows how out of touch they are with what local people want.
