Bournemouth hosts the Lib Dem conference where Cllr Lucy Care is speaking

Liberal Democrat Councillors and members are attending the party's conference in Bournemouth this week.

Amongst those attending the conference, which lasts from Saturday 19th to Wednesday 23rd is Derby North's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Cllr Lucy Care.

Lucy Care has submitted a policy amendment to the conference and is speaking to conference about it on Monday afternoon.

Lucy said "I, and other party representatives I spoke with, were unhappy with part of the policy submitted by the working party so this bit will now be decided delegates' votes. It's not a matter of the leadership winning or losing, but the whole party agreeing the best way forward for itself and the country. This is an example of how ordinary Liberal Democrat members from across the country really can help make policy at our conferences."

Amongst the debates at the conference are ones on reforming the parliamentary expenses system, better pay for the armed forces, and action to protect the environment.
